2026 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid
2026 Toyota
Corolla Cross Hybrid
The 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid has enhanced its defining characteristic – exceptional fuel efficiency – by achieving an estimated 46 mpg city and 39 mpg highway, surpassing last model year’s official EPA ratings by 1 mpg for both city and highway. But what you’ll no doubt notice first is the cosmetic refresh. In lieu of the previously black grille, a body-colored grille with a sporty bumper is in, paired with darker headlight and taillight designs, including new Bi-LED projector headlights on the base trim. Cavalry Blue color ousts the former Blue Crush Metallic shade, and the lineup loses a distinctive dark-themed look with the discontinuation of the Nightshade trim.
The Corolla Cross Hybrid’s interior gets a facelift as well, with the S and SE replacing their analog dials and 4.2-inch information display with 7-inch digital instrument cluster. The XSE upgrades to a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 10.5-inch infotainment touchscreen. Every trim showcases an enhanced center console with a new low-profile shifter. Available amenities have also expanded with the Cold Weather Package (a heated steering wheel and heated front seats) for the SE. Note also that we cover the non-hybrid 2026 Corolla Cross in a separate overview.

The 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid is offered in the S, SE, and XSE trim levels. The hybrid system unites a 2-liter four-cylinder engine with three electric motors, netting 196 combined horsepower. An electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (CVT) completes the powertrain, with paddle shifters on the two higher trims. Electronic on-demand all-wheel drive (AWD) is standard, as are MacPherson front struts and a double-wishbone multi-link rear suspension with trailing arms (both are sport-tuned and outfitted with a stabilizer bar, coil springs, and hydraulic shock absorbers). As mentioned in the intro, this model has exceptional fuel economy, with every trim EPA-rated to return 46 mpg city and 39 mpg highway. The Corolla Cross Hybrid can even tow a small trailer with a total weight of not more than 1,500 pounds.
