Toyota has brought back this all-electric crossover for the 2026 model year with a bit of rebranding. The bZ, originally known as the bZ4X, complements its updated name with fresh style, improved powertrain options, expanded amenities, and a streamlined lineup (the Nightshade has been discontinued). A new front end with redesigned headlights gives the bZ a confident presence, while the available two-toned exterior keeps the look true to its bZ4X roots. The available Front-Wheel Drive Plus powertrain provides the bZ with 314 miles of range (an increase of 62 miles) and increases output to 221 horsepower, up from the 168 put out by the base powertrain. A new 74.7-kWh battery generates 338 horsepower on all-wheel-drive versions, an increase of 124 hp over the old bZ4X. The 2026 bZ is also compatible with the North American Charging Standard (NACS), granting drivers access to a broader network of charging stations. As for amenities, a heated steering wheel and heated front seats are now standard, as is a foot-activated power hatch and Digital Key. Plus, the entire lineup swaps its old 12.3-inch touchscreen in for a 14-inch unit.
