The bZ has joined the RAV4 and Sienna as Toyota models that have a Woodland edition, marking the first time this rugged designation has been put on an all-electric vehicle. It also coincides with the model’s mild rebranding to bZ from its previous name, bZ4X. The bZ Woodlands’ outdoors-inspired styling, performance enhancements, and higher trail capability differentiate it from the regular bZ. Offered in base and Premium grades, the Woodland shares most of its amenities with the standard bZ’s Limited trim, as both have dual wireless smartphone chargers, heated seats, a 14-inch infotainment system, and Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0 driver-assist technology suite.
The adventure-ready bZ Woodland duplicate’s the regular bZ’s overall design, wheelbase, and width but stretches nearly six inches longer overall (190.2 inches). That increases the Woodland’s cargo capacity by 6 cubic feet to a generous 33.8 cubic feet. The bZ Woodland also stands nearly an inch taller than the bZ, sitting 8.4 inches off the ground; a second-row step makes it easy to access gear stored on the raised roof rails. While the bZ with all-wheel drive supplements its primary front-drive unit with a smaller rear motor, the Woodland instead uses front and rear motors with identical output. The result is an additional 37 horsepower and 73 lb.-ft. of torque, supporting a 3,500-pound tow rating that makes the bZ Woodland a capable choice for adventures that require trailered gear.
