Toyota Sequoia vs. Competitors for Sale in Warwick, RI
Now is the best time to get behind the wheel of a full-sized, three-row SUV. These spacious and robust vessels impress with their ability to accommodate plenty of passengers and cargo and their can-do performance. With the 2020 models now in circulation, it can be hard to select the best model from the selection. But you’ve come to the right place if you’re overwhelmed, since we’ll sort out the ways in which the 2020 Toyota Sequoia outdoes its rivals.
With the Sequoia’s generous space, suite of active safety features, comprehensive list of standard amenities (which are normally reserved for higher-level trims), and of course, Toyota’s reputation for reliability and long vehicle life, you can’t go wrong choosing the Sequoia. That said, it still has to contend with the Ford Expedition, Chevrolet Tahoe, Nissan Armada, and GMC Yukon; we’ll compare it to those rivals below.
Power and Coverage
Among the jumbo SUVs compared here, the Toyota Sequoia produces a contending amount of power. Its 5.7-liter V8 engine puts out 381 horses and 401 pounds-feet of torque. The other SUVs’ figures are as follows: Expedition (375 hp and 470 lb.-ft.), Tahoe (355 hp and 383 lb.-ft. of torque), Armada (390 hp and 394 lb.-ft. of torque), and Yukon (355 hp and 383 lb.-ft. of torque). But although the Expedition produces more torque, its base MSRP is nearly $3,000 more ($52,810 vs. $49,980), and its highest trim costs nearly $13,000 more than the Sequoia’s highest trim.
While all of the manufacturers mentioned here include no-cost maintenance terms, the Expedition’s expires 1,000 miles sooner than the Sequoia’s, which is 24 months/25,000 miles, while Tahoe and Yukon buyers just get one single maintenance visit in their first year of ownership. Plus, the Sequoia’s anti-corrosion warranty also lasts for unlimited miles, unlike the Expedition’s, Tahoe’s, and Yukon’s, which each expire at 100,000 miles.
Spaciousness and Standard Features
The 2020 Sequoia provides the most cargo space out of the rivals listed here. At 120.1 cubic feet, it outdoes the Expedition’s 104.6 cu. ft., Tahoe’s 94.7 cu. ft., Armada’s 95.4 cu. ft., and Yukon’s 94.7 cu. ft. Passengers will likely be more comfortable in the Sequoia as well, given that its front and rear shoulder room in inches is 66.4/66.5, respectively, while the Expedition’s (64.9/64.8), Tahoe’s (64.8/65.1), Armada’s (63.8/63.4), and Yukon’s (64.8/65.1) are a bit more cramped. Aside from that, Sequoia owners benefit from its generous slate of standard features with its base trim. This includes a front sunroof, which the Expedition, Tahoe, Armada, and Yukon don’t receive, and adaptive cruise control, which isn’t standard on the Expedition, Tahoe or Yukon. Although the base Armada gets adaptive cruise control, it lacks automatic high beams, which are supplied with the base Sequoia.
