2020 Toyota RAV4 for Sale in Warwick, RI
The exciting 2020 Toyota RAV4 continues its strong hold on the two-row crossover segment with some improvements that really distinguish it from its rivals. The new TRD Off-Road trim joins the Adventure trim to present two options for RAV4s that are well set up to leave the pavement. By popular demand, Android Auto and SiriusXM satellite radio have been added to the infotainment system on all levels. Most trim levels, in fact, increase their lists of standard features this year.
Powertrain and Standard Equipment
Just one powertrain appears in the 2020 RAV4 lineup: a 203 hp 2.5-liter four cylinder with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All trims besides the Adventure and TRD Off-Road, which get standard all-wheel drive, are available in either front-wheel drive or AWD.
With six versions of the 2020 Toyota RAV4 to choose from, there’s truly one for every driver (there’s a hybrid RAV4 as well, but we’ll focus on the gasoline-only model on this page). The base LE gets power exterior mirrors, keyless entry, and the Toyota Safety Sense suite of driver-assist features (more on that later). The XLE adds fog lights, push-button start, dual-zone auto temperature control, and a power driver seat, plus it upgrades its side mirrors with integrated turn signals and a heat feature to melt the frost and keep them clear. Additions to the XLE Premium include a sunroof and SofTex upholstery.
The next two trims, the Adventure and the TRD Off-Road, are in a class of their own in appearance, equipment, and capability. For starters, an upgraded AWD system with torque vectoring comes standard, and they can tow up to 3,500 pounds (2,000 lb. more than the other trims). The Adventure gets trim-specific wheels, special off-road roof rails and fender flares, selectable drive modes for varied terrain, and – a bonus for this year – leather wrapping on the steering wheel and shifter knob. The debuting TRD Off-Road is even more trail-ready, with all-terrain tires, a rugged suspension for off-roading, and TRD aesthetics inside and out.
At the top of the hierarchy is the Limited, where AWD goes back to being an option rather than the standard drivetrain. This trim maximizes comfort and convenience with heated front seats, approach lighting, ambient interior lighting in blue, sleeker roof rails finished in black, a digital rearview mirror, dynamic navigation, and a top-shelf JBL audio system. Many of the standard amenities on the Limited can be added to select other trims via optional packages.
Active Safety and Technology
The Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 package of driver-assist features that comes standard on all grades of the 2020 RAV4 consists of a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, intelligent high beams, smart cruise control, and road sign assist. All trims except for the base also get a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert.
Toyota does a fine job outfitting its vehicles to keep the occupants well connected for communication and entertainment. The base infotainment system has a 7-inch touchscreen – larger than many competitors’ base touchscreens – plus one USB port, an audio system with six speakers, and standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth technology. Higher trims see a selection of upgrades, such as an 8-inch touchscreen, an 11-speaker high-grade JBL audio system, and integrated dynamic navigation.
