Trims and Powertrain

The ‘25 Tundra has seven trims: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone. The CrewMax body style with a 5.5-foot truck bed is available across the full lineup, while the CrewMax and 6.5-foot bed is available on the SR5, Limited, 1794 Edition, and Platinum. Only the SR and SR5 can be ordered with a Double Cab and either a 6.5-foot or 8.1-foot bed.

The base trim has a 3.4-liter i-FORCE twin-turbo V6 engine mated to a 10-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence (ECT-i); this powertrain makes 358 horsepower and 406 lb.-ft. of torque. The SR5 through 1794 Edition are equipped with a higher-performing version of the i-FORCE V6 and ECT-i that has an output of 389 horsepower and 479 lb.-ft. of torque. Both of these powertrains come standard with rear-wheel drive (4×2) and a limited-slip differential, but those trims can be outfitted with available four-wheel drive (4×4) and an automatic limited-slip differential. Plus, the SR5 and abo ve have a drive-mode selector with a switch-dial combination that can toggle between Sport, Eco, Tow, Haul, Eco, and Normal settings.

The third powertrain is Toyota’s i-FORCE MAX 3.4L twin-turbo V6 hybrid. It’s found on the TRD Pro and Capstone and consists of an electric motor, 288V Ni-MH battery, ECT-i, and 4×4 driveline. The total output for this gas-electric system is 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. of torque.

The highest capability is realized with the SR5 Double Cab 4×2, which has a 12,000-pound towing capacity and a payload limit of 1,940 pounds. The fuel economy ratings for the ‘25 Tundra depend on body style and driveline configuration as well. The 4×2 i-FORCE engine achieves an EPA-estimated 18 mpg city/24 mpg highway, while the 4×2 i-FORCE MAX hybrid boosts efficiency to 20 mpg city/24 mpg highway. For 4×4 Tundras, the i-FORCE returns 17 mpg city/23 mpg highway, and the i-FORCE MAX achieves 19 mpg city/22 mpg highway. The rugged TRD Pro trim, also equipped with the i-FORCE MAX, will give you 18 mpg city and 20 mpg highway.

Standard Features

The SR has a black horizontal-bar grille with a black surround, 18-inch styled-steel wheels, an aluminum-reinforced composite bed, a deck rail header, a smart key system with remote illuminated entry and tailgate release, heated power side mirrors, and full exterior LED lighting (automatic on/off headlights, daytime running lights, taillights, brake lights with integrated cargo illumination, and a trailer reverse assist light). The main features for the interior are fabric upholstery, a 4.2-inch digital gauge cluster, automatic climate control, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, back panel rear-seat storage compartments, a rear under-seat storage compartment with removable and adjustable partitions, and a 12V power outlet in the front row. The SR5 adds an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat and LED fog lights while getting unique styling with chrome badging, 18-inch silver-painted alloy wheels, and a body-color surround for the black horizontal-bar grille.

The Limited ramps things up with dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, a 12.3-inch digital meter with selectable gauge display screens, a leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel, SofTex simulated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, memory settings for the driver, an 8-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, rear-seat air vents, and soft-touch materials on the doors, instrument panel, and center console. Its 60/40 split-folding rear seat also gains a center armrest and cup holders. On the exterior, it’s improved with a power tailgate, a gray-painted horizontal-bar grille with a satin-chrome surround, an acoustic laminated windshield, 20-inch gray-painted machined-finish alloy wheels, and these additional features for the heated power side mirrors: integrated turn indicators, blind-spot warning indicators, automatic anti-glare (driver’s side), and power-folding capability.

The Platinum’s exterior changes consist of a dark chrome-accented mesh grille with dark chrome surround, premium LED headlights with chrome trim and sequential turn signals, premium LED taillights with sequential turn signals, LED bed lights, 20-inch dark-gray-painted alloy wheels, dark chrome-accented side door moldings, a 120V/400W bed-mounted power outlet, and gloss-black accents on the window molding, overfenders, and tailgate spoiler. The cabin is improved with a heated power-adjustable steering wheel, leather upholstery with premium contrast stitching, 10-way power-adjustable driver and passenger seats, wireless smartphone charging, a panoramic roof with a power sunshade, and a 120V/400W power outlet in the second row. But the really draw on this plush trim would be its high-luxury amenities – massaging front seats, heated and ventilated rear seating, rear-door sunshades, a digital display auto-dimming rearview mirror, ambient interior lighting, and rain-sensing windshield wipers – all of which are standard on the 1794 Edition but not the TRD Pro.

Besides that list of luxurious elements, the 1794 Edition has Western-themed designs that pay tribute to the ranch founded in that year on the site where the Tundra is now manufactured. This trim’s most unique characteristics are American walnut wood-grain interior trim, laser-etched badging on the instrument panel, trim-specific all-weather floor mats, a chrome-accented mesh grille with chrome surround, premium LED headlights with black trim, 20-inch machined-finish alloy wheels, an easy lower-and-lift tailgate with smart switch release and “1794” stamping, gray-painted overfenders, and a chrome effect for the side molding, door garnish and door handles, mirror caps, and window molding.

The TRD Pro was engineered for the road less traveled with the inclusion of a multi-terrain monitor, Multi-Terrain Select with Crawl Control and Downhill Assist Control, Xply Armor high-strength undercovers (fuel tank/engine/transfer case), and an off-road suspension with a 1.1-inch front lift, 2.5-inch FOX internal bypass coil-overs and rear remote-reservoir shocks, and a TRD Pro front stabilizer bar. The exterior design matches its rugged performance equipment, sporting a Black “TOYOTA” heritage grille with color-keyed surround, an integrated light bar, and amber marker lights. It rolls on 18-inch matte-black forged-aluminum BBS wheels with TRD center caps and Falken WILDPEAK all-terrain tires. The appearance is enhanced by a technical camo-grained tailgate spoiler and overfenders, front and rear mudguards, a “TRD PRO” hood badge and tailgate stamp, and black dual exhaust tips. Trim-exclusive designs continue inside with a red-striped leather-wrapped shift knob, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with red center striping and a TRD badge, SofTex-trimmed seats with contrast stitching and technical camo pattern inserts, aluminum sport pedals, and TRD-Pro all-weather floor mats.

The Capstone adds power running boards and BedStep, acoustic laminated side windows, a 10-inch color head-up display, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, semi-aniline leather upholstery with premium contrast stitching, dark American walnut wood-grain interior trim with “CAPSTONE” backlit within the instrument panel, metal speaker grilles, trim-specific floor mats, a dark chrome-accented mesh grille with color-keyed surround, 22-inch dark chrome and machined-finish alloy wheels, a chrome single exhaust tip, and chrome along the door garnish and door handles, mirror caps, and window molding.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

Every ‘25 Tundra has drive-start control, hill start assist control, and the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 suite, which consists of automatic high beams, dynamic radar cruise control, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane tracing assist, lane departure alert with steering assist, and road sign assist. The Limited adds front/rear parking assist with automatic braking and blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert and trailer merge warning. The Platinum and above (except TRD Pro) get a panoramic view monitor with cameras and trailer backup guide with straight path assist.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Universal tech for all ‘25 Tundra trucks includes wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, and access to Toyota connected services. The SR and SR5 have an 8-inch color touchscreen paired with either a 6-speaker (double cab) or 9-speaker (CrewMax) audio system. The Limited expands to a 14-inch color touchscreen, with the same cab-specific speaker count. The Platinum and higher upgrade to a JBL premium audio system with an amplifier, a subwoofer, and 12 speakers.
