The 2025 Toyota Corolla FX will have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an output of 169 horsepower and 151 pounds-feet of torque. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) will manage the front-wheel drivetrain, and Toyota estimates fuel economy to be 34 combined mpg.
As with the other Corolla models, the 2025 FX is being built on the TNGA-C platform with a super-rigid structure, standard independent front MacPherson-type strut suspension with a stabilizer bar, and a lower center of gravity for ride comfort and good handling. Toyota also tuned the electric power steering system for a track-inspired feeling.
Although it shares some of the features of the top-grade Corolla XSE, the Corolla FX has a more daring exterior style with its enhanced black rear spoiler, black mirror caps, black badging, and 18-inch satin-black machined alloy wheels with black lug nuts. Buyers will be able to choose from three colors: Underground, Ice Cap, and Midnight Black Metallic, with all three getting a Midnight Black Metallic Roof, allowing for an optional two-tone appearance. Inside, the seats will be upholstered in Moonstone (gray) fabric with orange stitching. Some of the other standard features will be automatic climate control, a 7-inch driver information display, Smart Key, wireless device charging, and at least four USB ports.
Like the rest of the Corolla lineup, the 2025 Corolla FX will have the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 technology suite installed. The driver-assist features included will be adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, a pre-collision system (forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking), lane tracing assist, lane departure alert with steering assist, traffic sign recognition, proactive driving assist, and automatic high beams. There may be additional driver-confidence technologies made standard or optional once the Corolla FX is available for ordering.
Toyota has announced that the 2025 Corolla FX will contain a 10.5-inch infotainment touchscreen – a big jump over the standard 8-inch unit found in the 2024 Corolla lineup. It’s also expected to have SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and HD Radio.
