Toyota offers the 2025 Corolla Cross Hybrid in four trims: S, SE, Nightshade, and XSE. Their power comes from Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system, which consists of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and electric motors. The total system output is 196 horsepower, delivered to all four wheels via an electronic continuously variable transmission (eCVT). The EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings are 45 mpg in city driving and 38 mpg on the open road. The Corolla Cross Hybrid can tow up to 1,500 pounds with the proper equipment.
The base-level S comes well-appointed with proximity keyless entry, fabric-trimmed seating, single-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, projector-style LED headlights with auto on/off, and heated power side-view mirrors. This lowest-priced edition also has a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, a 4.2-inch driver information display, intermittent windshield wipers, an overhead console, two USB ports, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The SE takes the Corolla Cross Hybrid’s sporty looks to the next level with exclusive exterior treatments. It also gains roof rails, rear privacy glass, heated power side mirrors with built-in turn indicators, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, front and rear intermittent wipers, two more USB ports, and wireless device charging.
The edgy Nightshade features equipment similar to the SE but adds unique styling details, such as black exterior trim, red-and-black interior accents, and 18-inch gloss-black wheels. The SE and Nightshade are eligible for the optional Moonroof Package containing its namesake feature plus a cargo-area cover.
At the top of the trim lineup, the XSE gets upscale upgrades like SofTex upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a ten-way power driver’s seat, full LED exterior lighting, LED fog lamps, a 7-inch digital instrument panel, a leather-wrapped shift knob, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a cargo-area cover, a rear folding armrest, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The available XSE Convenience Package adds a power liftgate and a power moonroof.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, standard on every Corolla Cross Hybrid, contains forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. All trims except the base S have blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking are exclusive to the XSE. Also standard are a set of airbags, stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, hill start assist, unintended acceleration control, and a rearview monitor (with dynamic guidelines on the XSE).
The infotainment system, which includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi capability, is anchored by a crisp 8-inch touchscreen. While a six-speaker audio setup is standard, an upgraded nine-speaker JBL system is an option on all but the S trim. All trim grades have subscription-based access to Toyota connected services, including Cloud-based navigation.
