The trim choices for the 2024 Tundra are the SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, 1794 Limited Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone. The 358-horsepower (406 lb.-ft. of torque) i-Force twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 sits under the hood of the SR trim, while the SR5 through the 1794 Edition have a 389-horsepower version of this engine (it makes 479 lb.-ft. of torque). The i-Force MAX edition adds hybrid technology to boost output to 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is standard with the 1794 Limited Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone and optional for the Limited, Platinum, and the 1974 Edition. Most trims come with rear-wheel drive, while an on-demand four-wheel-drive system is optional and included with the TRD Pro and Capstone.
All trims come in a CrewMax (four regular doors) configuration with a 5.5-foot cargo bed. A CrewMax version with a 6.5-foot standard bed is also available with the SR5, Limited, Platinum, and 1794 Edition trims. The 1794 Limited Edition comes only with the CrewMax cab and 5.5-foot bed. A Double Cab (two regular front doors and a pair of rear-access doors) edition with a standard bed can be ordered in the SR, SR5, and Limited trims. The SR and SR5 versions can be configured as a Double Cab with an 8.1-foot bed.
With either non-hybrid engine, the Tundra’s fuel economy is rated at 17-18 mpg in the city and 22-24 mpg on the highway (varies drivetrain and trim). With the hybrid powerplant, the Tundra is rated for 18-20 mpg around town and 20-24 mpg on the open road (depending on drivetrain and trim). The Tundra has a towing range of 8,300-11,450 pounds and a payload capacity of 1,485-1,940 pounds, based on the trim and other specifications.
The SR trim focuses on the essentials, like single-zone automatic climate control, fabric upholstery, LED exterior lighting, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, an aluminum-reinforced composite cargo bed, a power rear window with privacy glass, heated power side mirrors, rear under-seat storage compartments, a tilt and telescopic steering column, three front-row USB ports, and 18-inch steel wheels. The SR5 adds LED fog lights, upgraded exterior treatments, a drive mode selector, adjustable cargo bed tie-down points, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Additional comfort and convenience features are part of the Limited’s equipment list. This mid-level Tundra gets dual-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, SofTex upholstery, eight-way power front seats with lumbar control, a towing hitch receiver with a wiring harness, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 20-inch alloy wheels. The Platinum rises further with a power moonroof, leather seating surfaces, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated rear seats, a power tilt and telescopic steering column, a digital instrument cluster, upgraded LED headlights, rear door sunshades, a trailer backup guide, ambient cabin lighting, two second-row USB ports, and 120-volt outlets in the cabin and cargo bed. The 1794 Edition is outfitted like the Platinum but with trim-specific exterior treatments and unique interior accents.
The 1794 Edition is outfitted like the Platinum but gets American walnut wood-grain interior trim, 1794 Edition-themed interior treatments, and exclusive exterior accents. The 1794 Limited Edition starts with the iForce MAX hybrid powertrain and an ultra-premium leather interior that would be right at home in a top-of-the-line luxury car, but with the added Western-inspired touch of integrated seatback saddlebags. Toyota also includes a matching overnight bag and other leather goods for an over-the-top touch. In addition, this trim gets Fox shock absorbers, a lifted suspension (by 1.1 inches), an exclusive stamped tailgate, power running boards, a head-up display, a multi-terrain monitor system, an individually numbered laser-etched dashboard plaque, and blacked-out exterior accents.
Off-road-focused equipment is at the heart of the TRD Pro, including a tuned suspension with Fox internal bypass shocks, crawl control, downhill assist control, and an electronic locking rear differential. This extra-capable Tundra also gets a power panoramic moonroof, eight-way power front seats (heated and ventilated), SofTex upholstery, additional exterior lighting, a unique grille with an integrated light bar, exclusive exterior treatments, an aluminum front skid plate, front and rear mudguards, and 18-inch forged-aluminum wheels with all-terrain tires. The Capstone is at the top, with semi-aniline leather seating surfaces, ten-way power front seats, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, power running boards, a head-up display, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, sound-reducing glass for the windshield and side windows, a unique grille, rear door sunshades, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 22-inch wheels.
All Tundras have Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 installed (collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and road sign assist). Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and front/rear parking sensors (with automatic braking) are available on the SR5 and standard on the higher trims. A surround-view monitor is standard on the Platinum, 1794 Edition, and Capstone and optional on the SR5 and Limited.
The infotainment features for the SR and SR5 get handled through an 8-inch touchscreen, while the higher trims have a 14-inch touchscreen (an option for the SR5). All trims have wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The audio system is a six- or nine-speaker arrangement (varies by trim) in the lower trims, while the Platinum and above get a 12-speaker JBL audio system (this is available for the Limited). All trims have access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and Toyota Connected Services (including remote features and Cloud Navigation).
