You can get a RAV4 in one of six trims: LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Adventure, TRD Off-Road, and Limited. Under the hood is a 203-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Three drive modes – Sport, Normal, and Eco – let you adjust to the road conditions; front-wheel drive is the default, with all-wheel drive standard on the Adventure and TRD Off-Road and optional on the lower trims. The AWD system adds Multi-Terrain Select with four modes (Normal, Snow, Mud & Sand, and Rock & Dirt). The ’24 RAV4 can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
Front-wheel drive RAV4s return an EPA-estimated rating of 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway, except for the XLE Premium, which is rated at 28 city/34 highway. AWD versions have varying fuel economy based on the trim level. The LE achieves 27 city/34 highway, while the XLE is rated for 27 city/33 highway. The Adventure and Limited both show 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, while the TRD Off-Road returns 25 city/32 highway.
The LE is simple yet complete with its cloth seating, manually adjustable front seats, three USB ports, two 12V power outlets, automatic climate control, 7-inch digital driver display, black power-folding outside mirrors, dual chrome-tipped exhaust, and 17-inch wheels with silver six-spoke covers. The XLE adds an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, 2 additional USB ports in the rear, the Smart Key system with push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a cargo-area tonneau cover, low-profile black roof rails, color-keyed heated power-folding outside mirrors with turn-signal and blind-spot warning indicators, and 17-inch light-gray metallic five-spoke alloy wheels. The XLE Grade Weather Package will add a leather-trimmed heated steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, and heated front seats, while the XLE Grade Convenience Package comes with a height-adjustable power liftgate and power tilt/slide moonroof.
The XLE Premium has SofTex upholstery, a power tilt/slide moonroof, rear-seat climate control vents, a leather-trimmed shift knob and steering wheel, a height-adjustable power liftgate, LED fog lights, and 19-inch metallic-finished multi-spoke alloy wheels. With the XLE Premium Grade Advanced Technology Package, a wireless smartphone charger is added, along with upgraded safety features (listed below). The XLE Premium Grade Weather Package adds heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. There’s also an optional digital rearview mirror with a HomeLink universal transceiver.
The Adventure has orange-accented SofTex upholstery, a four-way power-adjustable passenger seat, an auxiliary engine oil cooler, a 120V/100W AC power outlet in the cargo area, raised roof rails (black), black badging, and 19-inch matte-gray split five-spoke alloy wheels. The available Adventure Grade Convenience Package comes with a height-adjustable power liftgate and a power tilt/slide moonroof, while the Adventure Grade Weather Package has heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
The TRD Off-Road’s specialized features consist of an off-road-tuned suspension, red-painted shock absorbers, a stainless-steel front skid plate, black badging, red-stitched SofTex-upholstery, TRD all-weather floor mats, a TRD all-weather cargo liner, and 18-inch matte-black six-spoke flow-formed alloy wheels. Buyers can elect the TRD Off-Road Grade Advanced Technology Package at the time of ordering to get wireless device charging and extra safety features (listed below). The TRD Off-Road Grade Weather Package is available as well for perforated heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
At the top of the lineup, the Limited adds a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, heated and ventilated front seats, dark brown interior accents, blue ambient interior lighting, and 19-inch metallic-finished multi-spoke alloy wheels. The Limited Grade Advanced Technology Package introduces the Smart Key system for all doors and the liftgate, a foot-activated power liftgate, more safety features (listed below), and wireless device charging. The Limited Grade Weather Package incorporates a heated steering wheel, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and heated rear outboard seats.
All RAV4s have the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 (TSS 2.5) suite of driver-assist aids. These safety-enhancing technologies include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane tracing assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beam headlights, and a rearview camera. The XLE and above also get blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The optional equipment packages mentioned above for the XLE Premium and TRD Off-Road add front and rear parking assist, and automatic braking (standard on the Limited). A surround-view monitor is available via an optional package for the TRD Off-Road or Limited.
Most RAV4 trims have an 8-inch multimedia touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 6-speaker sound system. The TRD Off-Road and Limited go big with a 10.5-inch touchscreen. The Limited alone gets a sound upgrade to a premium 11-speaker JBL system with an amplifier and subwoofer (this is optional on the TRD Off-Road). All trims come with access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and Toyota Connected Services (for Cloud Navigation, emergency support, and remote features).
