Trims and Powertrains
Toyota offers six trims for the 2024 Camry: LE, XLE, SE, SE Nightshade, XSE, and the TRD. Most versions are powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 202–206 horsepower (actual output varies by drivetrain). A 301-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 is standard with the TRD and available with the XLE and XSE. All trims come with front-wheel drive (FWD), while an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system is optional in conjunction with the four-cylinder powertrain. An eight-speed automatic transmission manages both drivetrains.
The EPA-estimated fuel economy for a four-cylinder Camry with FWD is 27–28 mpg in the city and 38–39 mpg on the highway (it varies slightly by trim level due to the weight of the standard equipment). With AWD, the Camry is officially rated to achieve 25 city/34 highway. The V6 Camry delivers 22 mpg around town and 31–33 mpg on the open road, but once again the actual output varies according to the trim grade.
Standard Features and Options
Toyota ensures that the Camry LE is well equipped for a base trim. It has keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED exterior lighting, power side mirrors, a tilt and telescopic steering column, a 4.2-inch driver information display, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The seating situation includes fabric upholstery, an eight-way power driver’s seat, and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat. The LE can be optioned with the Convenience Package (proximity keyless entry, push-button start, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror), the Cold Weather Package (heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated power side mirrors), and a power moonroof.
The XLE brings some more upscale features to the Camry, like leather upholstery, heated front seats, and an eight-way power front passenger seat. Other premium touches include standard proximity keyless entry, push-button start, automatic headlights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, wood interior trim, unique exterior accents, heated power side mirrors with integrated turn signals, ambient cabin lighting, a 7-inch driver information display, and 18-inch alloy wheels. There are several available options for the XLE, such as a panoramic glass roof with a power moonroof, a heated steering wheel, and the Driver Assist Package (with a head-up display, a surround-view monitor, ventilated front seats, and additional safety technology—detailed below). XLEs with the V6 get the glass roof, head-up display, and dual exhaust; the options for this configuration include a heated steering wheel and the Driver Assist Package (minus the head-up display, which is already standard).
The SE adds a sportier look to the LE with unique exterior treatments, SofTex-trimmed seating, a color-keyed rear spoiler, a black-finished grille, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and 18-inch alloy wheels. This version also gets an upgraded suspension with sport-tuned shocks and automatic headlights. The SE Nightshade dials up the SE’s athletic appearance with additional black-finished exterior treatment and 19-inch bronze-tone alloy wheels. The Convenience Package is among the available upgrades for the SE and SE Nightshade. The XSE takes the Camry SE’s sportiness even further with leather-trimmed seating, an eight-way power front passenger seat, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, dual exhaust, rear seat vents, a 7-inch driver information display, upgraded interior lighting, an electronic parking brake, and 19-inch wheels. The Driver Assist Package, a panoramic glass roof with a power moonroof, and a heated steering wheel are among the options for the XSE. The XSE V6 gets a head-up display and the glass roof.
The ultimate performance Camry is the TRD edition (named for the brand’s in-house group, Toyota Racing Development). Its superior handling comes from a race-tuned suspension, larger front disc brakes, additional chassis bracing, and active cornering assist. And to make the TRD stand out from the regular Camry, Toyota adds aerodynamic body treatments, a unique pedestal-style rear spoiler, TRD badging, exclusive exterior accents, a sport exhaust, and 19-inch black-matte alloy wheels. This king-of-the-hill Camry also has TRD-themed SofTex upholstery, an eight-way power driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, single-zone automatic climate control, and a 4.2-inch driver information display.
Advanced Driver Aids
Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is fully installed in every 2024 Camry. This suite of advanced driver support technologies includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, adaptive cruise control, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert comes on the XLE, XSE, and TRD and is optional on the lower trims. When equipped the XLE and XSE are equipped with the Driver Assist Package, they’ll also get front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking.
Infotainment and Connectivity
A 7-inch touchscreen is the infotainment center for the LE, SE, SE Nightshade, and TRD grades of the 2024 Camry. An upgraded 9-inch touchscreen with SiriusXM satellite radio is the standard upgrade for the XLE and XLE (it’s optional on the LE, SE, SE, and TRD). Every trim has Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB ports, and a 12-volt outlet. Most Camry trims get a six-speaker audio system, but a nine-speaker JBL arrangement is found in the XLE V6 and XSE V6 and is available for the XLE, XSE, and TRD. The XLE and XSE (with either engine) get wireless device charging and can be upgraded with optional navigation. All 2024 Camrys have access to Toyota Connect services for emergency help, remote vehicle monitoring and access, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and additional features.
